Joint Implementation

Joint Impletementation (JI)

JI-projects are participations and measures in other Annex 1 states (industrial countries), whose quantitative goals in emissions also meet the regulations and agreements within the Kyoto Protocol.

Those countries registered by the Convention on Climate Change (Annex 1 states), can implement projects with other Annex states in the course of which additional reduction of greenhouse gases are noted in the respective Annex 1 state where the project is sanctioned and realised.

The project party financing the project can have those reductions extrapolated to their reduction budget, while in return the other party realising the project will have their emission budget charged with reductions/certificates respectively.
